Default wasp jackhammers vs rocket

Which has better overall performance and durability in comparable sizes. I have had many rocket blades break off in deer and even turkey without hitting heavy bone. I have no experience with wasp. Do thicker blades and better o rings make a better head?

Man I love my Rocket slammer heads It would be hard for me to change,I have not had any break on me yet.But if the wasp have thicker blades then they should be stonger.Give im try and let us all know this season.Do they come in a 13/4 cutting dia.I cant beleve the size entry and exit holes the slammer head leaves.[8D]

Overall wasps are a stronger head with much sharper blades. The downside is that they don' t open as well and tend to penetrate a bit less. The rockets penetrate better, but the blades are not nearly as sharp, and as you found out they can bend or break. That is not always a bad thing as it allows the head to penetrate more. Both are excellent mechanical heads and It really boils down to what you want the most as far as features.

I' ve had great success with the 100 grain Wasp Jackhammer. Two deer last year with unbeilvable blodtrails. I tries them from a tip from a hunting buddy who has 12-14 deer under his belt with the Jackhammer. The only preqaulifyer: You need a high KE. That jackhammer makes a huge hole... 1 3/4" and you need the energy to make sure you penetrate both sides. My KE is 63 and had both deer full pass throughs and one went through the shoulder bone. Jackhammers are pretty durable.

Good Luck!

I would highly recommend the Wasp Jackhammer 100gr. I have used them the past three years, with three kills and two complete passthroughs. Huge entry and exit holes, which means a great trail. However, I' ve never had to track one more than 75 yards. Great, durable head that flies true. I just can' t say enough good things about them. Good luck.
