I spend way too much time on the walkie-talkie when hunting with friends.

I always second guess myself once I get my climber on a tree.

I underestimate how long it will take me to get to my tree and ready to go.

I get lazy with scent control the longer the season goes...

Moving too much in the stand,

and as a result . . .

getting down too early following a morning hunt because I'm bored . . . and impatient!

Cool

Shooting deer way after hrs..........................................I'm just kidding.

1. Definately not giving a stand it much deserved time. Way too many times I decided to move and spook deer comin down. It's payed off sometimes but not enough to keep doing it.

2. Not enough practice. With being in the military time is short but I love bowhunting. I fnally got the wife a bow so maybe I can practice a little more.

3. Moving too fast while stalking through the woods. I catch myself walking way too fast. Yeah I see deer but it's usually the hind ends laughing at me.

Great Idea of a thread topic!!

What is it that you do when bowhunting that you know
you shouldn't do or wish you wouldn't do?
Sometimes I wonder If I'm setting the bar a little too high In the area I hunt with the bucks I'm passing. This Is always on my mind.

I tend to over analyze things a lot. I over think the situation and sometimes I get impatient and don't give my stands a good fair shake.
Me as well. Too often I haven't acted on my 1st Instinct on stand placements or which stand to sit on a particular sit. I know of at least 2 different occasions where this did cost me a nice buck.

I am also a compulsive shooting lane a brush cutter.
I use to be kinda like this too. Instead though I'd clear too much In and around the stand tree. It looked awesome before I put the stand up. After the trimming I'd get down and admire what I thought was a kick ass stand to only be disappointed In the big open blob In the tree. Me and Pine tree's were good for this. I've gotten much better though with this.

1. Shoot does too often.
2. Not hunt enough middays
