Elk hunting
How many of you elk hunt?
What's your favorit state?
You bow hunt or gun hunt for elk? I do elk hunt and have for 17 years,i am a non resident to colorado,
but I've only hunted Colorado.
I've gun, bow & muzzy hunted elk. and this year heading out with the bow.
Do any of you use elk decoys. i do and have for about 11 years.
to tell you the truth i manufacture Instant Elk decoys.
It's time to think about hunting.
I guess one of the reasons I hunt Colorado is because of the over the counter lic. allowes me a chance to pick my hunting time based on the weather conditions.
I've been all over the state hunting but only on public ground.
I just cann't make myself spend the big bucks for a tresspass fee or a guide or unguided hunt.
I know if I find the elk and they are using the edge of privet ground, that it's nothing to get them to cross over. I dont' hunt just the fringes. though when there is a lot of hunting pressuer its going to be one of my first places to look.
I did have one outfitter have his son piss all along the fence once.
It didn't stop the elk though.
I don't think there is anything like hearing a bull coming in screaming his love sick heart out.
If you haven't been there, done that, then its time to make it your experance.
I'm definetly pumped up. 19 weeks ond counting.
If by chance any of you are interested in (1) decoy or 2, 3 I'm passing on special deals to those whom respond to my web page thru the contact page- email.
75 bucks each + shipping. That nearly 28 percent savings,
then 5 bucks off for (2)- that 70 bucks each
10 bucks off for (3) or 65 bucks each.
Now this deal is only for HuntingNet members.
Lets have a great season hunting but most of all hunt safely.

we can get i errased, nullified, killed,
didn't mean to advertise a product.
i just wanted to help hunters like myself, take advantage of a situation that accures while elk hunting, The hang up.
maybe i should move my forum to a different location.

Bailsuk, thanks.
i shoot a bowtec 82nd airborn, she's so fast i have to go with as bright of fletching and tight of rotation just so i can see her go.
then its down range at least 7 yards before my eye can catch up.
then to even shoot just a little bit quicker I shoot with a drop away rest that allowes me to shorten my shaft about 4"
this takes off about 3 grams.
she's zipping out at around 342 ft per sec.
For ever i shot feathers but they sing to loud with that much speed, so now only plastic vains.
good luck with you hunting this season.

18 weeks and my truck is heading to colorado,
Its great to be just thinking about elk hunting and get a rush up your back.
last year we had one of the guys in the group have a bull sniff his bottle of scent he had sitting next to him on a log.
the bull came in from behind him, put his head down, totaly blind to the fact taht Dave was sitting next to the bottle. I was about 45 yards watching the whole thing.
There was nothing Dave could do, the bull sniffed the bottle, screamed in Daves ear turned and walked back into the darkness of early morning.
Dave he said he never hear it come in.
Now that a close encounter of the elk kind.
Genesis27:3,
where did that come from?
glad to here from you, sound like you got the bug.
sorry there isn't any type of cure.
and i hope there's never one found.
Ut with 1500 acres to hunt, must be nice.
leadpillproductions,
sounds like you got a film thing going,
I always wanted to film some hunts but either the batteries would chill out.
the tape would freeze or i just didn't fell like carring the thing.
so here i sit just wishing.
you guys have a great hunt this year.
be safe.

I guess my user id says it all...10 trips (1 gun, 9 bow) to Colorado and New Mexico....so far I have 5 bulls and called two other bulls in for friends to help fill their freezer.
Not a day goes by where elk hunting is not a part of a conversation....
