Default String Rotation

If it's a stock string i'd get a new one. If you already have a good string then you need to press the bow and twist the string in the direction the peep is rotating until the peep does not move when you pull it back.

Won't that affect the specs of the bow and cam timing of the bow?

The reason it is rotating is because there is an uneven pressure on the peep. That means that one side of the string is putting more pressure on the peep then the other causing it to rotate. When you come to full draw the string relaxes and your peep returns to where it is a balanced pressure.

A couple things to check would be, make sure there are an even number of twists in the string above and below the peep and the serving. (This is generally the issue) Another thing to would be to add a twist to the string itself in the opposite way of the rotation to try and balance out those pressures. You may also check to see if you have an even number of strands on each side of the peep. It is very easy to do if you have two colored strings. You will have to play with either the top or the bottom of the string as far which one will provide the answer.

I will say that when I have issues with my peep rotating it is usually due to uneven twists above and below the peep.
