i posted a thread in the gear review asking what are the best inexpensive rangefinders out, but i didn' t get much response so i was wandering how many of you use a rangefinder when bowhunting? and which one do you use?

My Yardage Pro 500 stays in my Back pack! I usually take a few readings when I sit for a hunt
But when moose hunting These things are worth their weight in gold Those MEESE are sooooooo big That they will through your yardage judgement off
I still always practice yardage Guesstimates But when I have time to use it while hunting I do!

My Yardage Pro 500 stays with me and often it serves as my binoculars. All of my animals have been less than 30 yards and I range that pretty accurately by eye.
I was thinking that your initial posting was regarding a SPECIFIC brand of range finder.

I do and it' s one of the older ones.I thought about updating to the 500 but, really don' t need to. I use the Crooked Horn Bino System and wear it around my neck when hunting.

I would never bow hunt with out one. Yardage Pro 800. I would expect to see more replys from the ethically concerned hunters. If you hunt without one you might as well be taking a 60 yard hail marry. If you think your eye is that calibrated you must be legends in your own minds. Im sure this will stir up some @#*!. Oh well.

I just picked up one of the optical range finders. For about $75 you can get one of the Ranging range finders. Not nearly as slick as the new laser types, but I have been pleasantly suprised at the accuracy of mine.
