It's a sad comentary...but I find that I don't believe anything I can't touch anymore. And even then I'm not convinced.

Neat pics, though!

I would like to have him on my wall. But only if I took him.

yes this is not a one of a kind. this november in north idaho near hauser lake a man who just moved here from wisconsin shot what may be a new non-typical state record and yes it had three horns the middle horn had 3 points and was not much bigger then the one shown here but if i remmemmber right the other 2 horns had a combined 25 points . the third horn did sit higher on the head then the one shown here.

I killed a whitetail in southwest Mo. several years ago that had deformity. Insted of the main beams arching up & forward, they arched down & away from the skull. (Kinda like a waterbuffalo). The skull had large calcium deposits on it. From 1\2" in the center to 1 1\2" right at the pedical(sp?). If you tilted the skull at just the right angle, you could actually see the skull under the buildup. My younger brother in Mo. still has the skull in his posseion if he hasn't turned it over to fish & game.

That's definitely somethin'. I had my doubts, too, even about the close up of the unihorn and the hair. But think about it, if you killed something like that wouldn't you be trying to pull the hair back and stuff to get a closer look?

Anyway, I sent the link to a vet buddy of mine who also happens to raise whitetails and elk. Here is his response:

Likely very real.....xrays of skull would tell the tail. Not really that rare to have aberrant antler pedical. That's not a common location, but you see them all over the skull.
