Rage has went over the edge!!!!

I was reading then new Petersen Bowhunting Mag last night and it was thier new products issue. They had the new Rage Titanium broadhead and they sale for $84.99 for three. With all of the great broadheads on the market IMO you would have to be crazy to pay $30.00 per head. What are they thinking.

MOhunter46 02-10-2010 07:29 AM

Yep thats pretty crazy, people will still buy them though.

bowfly 02-10-2010 08:49 AM

get used to hearing all of the hunting celebrities say "this joker fell to a rage, mechanical, titanium broadhead...they are awesome!" and of course, us sheep will go buy them

Western MA Hunter 02-10-2010 09:15 AM

That is alot of $$ for 3 broadheads....!

ozbowhunter 02-10-2010 10:19 AM

not all of us will run out and buy them i still have 5 dozen 125 grain thunderheads i bought 10 yeas ago and 10 packs of replacement blades wont need to buy any for a while i think especially at those prices

nchawkeye 02-10-2010 10:51 AM

Heck, I think guys are crazy paying for the regular Rages...:)

IL-Cornfed 02-10-2010 11:35 AM

I'm just glad that EVERYDAY on the forums someones crying about the price of the new Ti-Rages.....

you know what..... DON'T BUY 'EM !!!!

cwanty03 02-10-2010 11:41 AM

someone post up a link!

VaWhitetailHunter 02-10-2010 11:42 AM

i would never pay that much for 3 broadheads thats ridiculous there are plenty of other broadheads out there that will kill a animal just as easily for alot less.

YooperMike 02-10-2010 12:23 PM

If Rage was convinced that NO ONE would buy them, they wouldn't have made them. So, don't buy them if you don't want to. Not sure why price of things is always such a big issue. Nothing is EVER overpriced to the people that have bought it, so it shouldn't stir you up so bad that someone is willing to pay it.

GMMAT 02-10-2010 12:53 PM

Not Rage, but I'm gonna pay $90 for 3 heads for my CO elk hunt (probably). With what I have in equipment, I'm surely not gonna let something this insignificant (in the overall picture) stop me from using what I think I need to get the job done.

I'll likely be sportin' silver flames on the business end, in Sept.

If I didn't think they were worth it, I'd just refuse to pay it. If someone else chose to......it's no concern of mine.

twildasin 02-10-2010 01:03 PM

Never will I pay that much for heads I hope!!!!

Those silver flames are pretty incredible. I haven't used them on an animal, but played with a friend of mine's. They are incredibly sharp, and the machining on them is unmatched IMO. I think you would be well served with them for elk. Their track record is definitely a lethal one!

rankbull 02-10-2010 01:51 PM

Yeah looked at them at the ATA show, felt bad for the rep because i couldn't help my self when he told me the price. (I Think it started with an F) Anyone know what the "advantages" to this "improvement" would be?

gutshot 02-10-2010 01:55 PM

Hey if you've got it that way then by all means put it out there and go for it but as I stated "In My Opinion" I can't see a animal being any more dead with them then my $3.50 a peice Muzzy's.

my7pointmonster 02-10-2010 02:14 PM

Guarantee that they are flying off the shelf's as we speak, Every ones gotta have them. And your right, it is a shame. But if they can do it and get away with it then what the hell. why not?

Ryan.

GMMAT 02-10-2010 02:54 PM

What kills me about this is.......

How many bowhunters spend $900 or more every year....on something that depreciates 25% as you fling your first arrow....and nearly 50% inside a year?

MeanV2 02-10-2010 03:53 PM

If they can sell a few for that price, then more power to them. I think I have a pretty good handle on what the market will bear, what will move, and what will not.

Sure they will sell some but I hope they don't stock pile a ton waiting for the Big run because IMHO it won't happen.

I have silver flames and samurais and, if I had to pick one, I would pick the samurai. Every bit as well made and as sharp but, single bevel/tanto tip which, IMO, is better.

treboryerf 02-10-2010 04:40 PM

I still have 2 packs of unopened replacement blades for my muzzy 125's,so I will be using them until I run out of new sharp blades, unless I find them on clearance last the last packs I bought for 8 bucks.when I do finally run out of blades I won't be buying any rages or any other mechanical heads, will most likely be tricks or muzzy.

deerhunter729 02-10-2010 04:53 PM

yeap, that crazy. I really don't understand how they'll kill any better that other broadheads. They better come with a won't lose a deer warrenty for that price.

fishinty 02-10-2010 05:05 PM

I love rage broadheads. In my opinion they are the best broadhead on the market. But I wont be buying any for $84.

fishinty 02-10-2010 05:06 PM

its all about shot placement

With left wing feathers you will need the left bevel. Good luck with them.

I would say he won't. This is a forum IL. I am not sure you understand how it works. But we see things of interest and we talk about them. Nobody says we have to buy them or not. But everyone has the right to comment if they want.

I mean what do you want us to do? Just sit here and look at each other??

wis_rifle_hunter 02-10-2010 06:31 PM

when i bought my rage 2 blades last year at cabelas they were 31.99 for 3 now they are 41.99. its getting freaking rediculous!!!!

hunt91 02-11-2010 06:42 AM

not gunna lie........ im probly gunna have to buy them. they look sweet as hell and i would like to see how they preform compared to the regular rage.

BvrHunter 02-11-2010 07:05 AM

It wasn't too too long ago that there was nothing but a bow, string, wooden arrow with a sharp rock on the end of it!! $90 for three broadheads??????? I thought we (the country) were in a Recession??

My point was.... why must we read someone cry and bitch about the price of the new Ti-Rages everday ?!?

Every single day someone feels the need to bash Rage about something.... it's gets kinda old and is awfully unoriginal.

How about talking about something productive!

sportsman22 02-11-2010 04:27 PM

Well they sell bows over 900. Why not sell a broadhead over 30?

virginiashadow 02-11-2010 06:19 PM

What a joke. I could not look at myself in the mirror if I bought those heads. I can just hear myself now.."Hey honey I just spent $90 on 3 broadheads....."

GMMAT 02-11-2010 06:52 PM

There's your problem, Brett.

Why would you tell her????.....lol

Either I tell her on Day 1, or she finds out from our bank statements X days later. :)

I once went on a Bear trip with a Buddy and when we got back home his wife had recarpeted the entire house and bought a couple rooms of new furniture.

Luckily I never had to deal with a woman like that. No he did Not know she was going to do it and they had Not discussed it.:s3:

ANd you have the option of keeping your yankee ass up north!

(hope you're doing well, Rick. Stop back by when you're down here mext)

NY Bowhunter 02-12-2010 03:38 AM

They can sell them because people will buy them. It's the American way. Just turn your head as you walk by them.

rankbull 02-12-2010 12:49 PM

I guess I can see both sides of this, if you spend $700-$800 on a bow, $80 on a rest, $150 on a sight, and $70 on some arrows. Not to mention other accessories alike tree stands, binos, rang finder, exc. Why cheap out on the broad heads? I just don't see why this particular head is bringing that price.

RidgeFACTOR 02-12-2010 02:05 PM

Too much doe!

Actually, charging $39.99 for 3 broadheads is ridiculous. Stop buying them and maybe they'll go down......Nah, that'll NEVER happen. It's AMERICA
