Did anyone go out today in this cold rainy weather?
Any luck?

Arm chair day dreamers. That is what I thought. No real hunters on here.

A Christmas Eve treasure hunt is a fun little tradition we have started in my family. A lot of families have the tradition where they open one gift on Christmas Eve, usually pajamas. So instead of just giving the kids their presents, we make them go on a little treasure hunt around the house to find them. My kids have enjoyed this so much, we've made it a tradtion now every year. This year it's called an "elves hunt" because all the clues are elf oriented. You can really make the clues about anything Christmas related. And the level of difficulty will depend on the ages of your children. There are some sample clues listed below to help get you started or make some of your own! Either way this is a really fun thing to do on Christmas Eve and make it a little more exciting to actually find their Christmas Eve present rather than just giving it to them!

1. These little elves don’t know what to do. They have a hidden treasure and have lost all the clues! Can you help these elves find the treasure? The first thing we need for these fine little elves, is a little encouragement and a big glass of milk… (Next clue should be hidden in the fridge.)

2. Well you have just begun and are not yet through, but these poor little elves just don’t know what to do. They have lost a kitten and a pair of mittens and some have come down with the flu. So show them a spot where they can rest their little heads, something that is soft and is just like a ….(Next clue should be hidden near a bed.)
