This is going to be difficult to try and describe my hunting area but bear with me. I' m stuck on where to put my blind.
I have ten acres of property. My house and yard takes up about 4 acres of it in the very front. As you walk to the back of my backyard, it turns into chest high weeds. These run about 70 yards back and then there' s a horse coral, which is still once in a while used. After the horse coral, there is a 5 or 6 feet deep line of trees cutting across my property. Beyond that is the thickest weeds you' ll come across with all sorts of thorns and head-high bushes and stuff. There is also a path going along the perimeter of the property about 4 feet wide. After the thick stuff in the back, which goes about 80-90 yards after the tree line, there is woods. The woods are massive and go on for hundreds of acres. It is filled with many acorn-producing trees. To the left of the property is a field, which rotates corn and beans every year. To the right is another horse coral. Currently, I am set up on the edge of the woods on the very left edge, near the field. It overlooks the path in two different directions, the field behind me and the thick weeds in front of me. Last year, I poured some molasses on a tree about 10 yards in front of my stand and the next morning a little 4-pointer came directly to it. Unfortuanately, there was not a chance for a shot. Also last year, while hunting, I noticed many deer walking in among the thick weeds, way out of bow range. They were almost on the edge of the second coral mentioned. From past scouting trips, I know that the thick weeds are used as a bedding area, both by does and (I think) the 4-pointer. I noticed a rather large bed in the middle and there was a rub right next to it. My plan this year is to take the back wall of the first coral mentioned and fill the coral with alfalfa. So... my question is: Where should I set up my blind???
Thanks for you help!
