My sisters boyfriend and his friends are planning on shooting their guns out at our farm on saturday. The place they shoot them is behind our barn which is about 200 yards from our woods and my stands. I cant hunt on saturday but how much will their shootin affect my huntin? we have 77 acres so we dont exactly have and overload of areas for them to shoot. Not to mention its my Dad's land so I don't have a choice but I just wondered.

If its just a limited thing, it shouldn't have too much of an impact.

They plan on shooting for a few hours I think.

This time of year the bucks are really starting to roam out of their home ranges, so even if the bucks that generally hang around your property move out (which I wouldn't attribute to the shooting, just natural rut movement) there should be other bucks moving in looking for does.

I hunt less than a mile away from a shooting range. Not only does the shooting not effect the deer that I see while hunting, I always see deer right around where the range is. Don't worry about the shooting and just hunt.

From my experience shooting has NO EFFECT on deer. In fact the other day my dad was shooting his Muzzleloader and had 4 deer come out, 80yrds away in our pastures.

Deer can't think logically and therefore don't associate the gun shots w/ danger (unless its really close, <50 yrds and fired at them)

Me and dad are members of a rifle range. And sometimes in the later evening everyone has to stop shooting and go down to the 200 yard line and shoo the deer off the range. I took my GF's little cousin on the youth gun hunt this weekend and he shot and missed one and we walked around the hill about 300 yards and there stood deer feeding calm as could be and he took a doe. I dont think it will hurt anything honestly.
