Why aren't you guys out hunting?
 

It's Saturday, folks. Why aren't you out hunting? It's the youth season here in Tennessee today and tomorrow, so I have an excuse.

Umm because some of us are forced to work lol.....trust me id be out there right now if i wast stuck in this damned 8x10 cube....lol...

well i got up ate some breakfast got dressed and then the RAIN STARTED I won't bowhunt in the rain ,too easy to lose the blood trail so here I am wishing the weather was better

That's gotta hurt.

I don't mind bowhunting in a light drizzle, but you're right about not hunting in the rain. Besides, I can't follow a blood trail in the best of conditions. I'm colorblind.

I have a good excuse for not being in the woods today. My buddies are in the woods as I respond to this thread. Its killing me! I have not missed the peak of the rut for 20+ plus years. I will never play softball in the fall again.

It's currently raining cats and dogs with 30mph winds with gusts even higher. I got 4 days off this week from school and I still can't manage to get a couple nice days to hunt.

I am unfortunatly at work too....but its my Friday so this evening its on!

here's another......i'm at work also reply but, we get to hunt private land with the bow in maryland tomorrow so i'm really looking forward to getting in the woods on sunday.................

40mph winds and driving rain ... no sense in being out ...

40mph winds with driving rain would keep me in too, but it's beautiful weather here. Like I said before, it's the youth hunt in TN and I'm tagged out in Arkansas, so I think I'll do some bowling, golf and baseball on the Wii with my daughter.:s4:

Well after mother nature decided to just dump about 3-4 in. of rain on us here in SO. IL i cant access any of my spots as most of my hunting ground is bottoms and when i decided to go out yesterday evening the road to my bottoms was under water and so was my bottoms. Ive got family here this weekend and i let my cousin and his buddy hunt my other property that is accessible. My bottoms should be accessible by this evening since its dry today and it drains fast.

I'm in between hunts :) Thank you

Mother nature has been a real bitch the last 10 days here, all It does Is rain and blow as of late!!:rant:

Rain, Wind, Hangover

I got school work. WOrk on the house. Cleaning the house. Getting ready for monday. I will be at it monday for sure. Besides it is cold here today plus a good amont of wind.

My hunting property is 3 hrs away and I'm taking my GF's grandson trick 'r treating tonite...I'll be out next weekend:s4:

I have a chest cold and on top of that I have to take the 3 kids Trick or Treating! Hopefully I can make it out Sunday night.

Sorry to hear that, Schultzy. I wish I could hunt this weekend. The weather's great here. I guess the youngsters need their time in the woods, though.

Sorry for the delay, PT. Things have been going great for me. I switched jobs at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, so I no longer work for a world reknowned genetic immunologist with an ego that dwarfs Texas.

I've got four deer in the freezer already and the rut isn't even really started yet. Life is good.:s1:

I don't get it, Tim. You have school work on the weekend, but you'll be able to hunt Monday? Won't you be in school?

Rain- lots of Rain & high winds

Rain ,wind and warm temps have been killing me here! On top of that I had last week off and sat at home with my 2 kids fighting the flu!

Was it you fighting the flu or was it the kids?

Wind and rain can definitely put a damper on hunting, but I don't mind the warm temps at all.

Absolutely brilliant genetic immunologist, but 60 years old, never married, her work is her life and she doesn't like to lower herself to talk to humans with an IQ lower than hers.

That makes my fingers hurt. I was out till 2:00 am last night so I needed my sleep :action-smiley-099: but I went out at noon and just got back in didn't see a thing but I hope to get out there tonight again. farmer harvest half of a corn field then it rained so i got a little space and the wind is right!!!!
