Im not sure, we thought the same thing when we got that picture. I think he was just not very photogenic, kinda looked like a fairy deer. I can assure you he bulked up since then. I picked up a scale and his field dressed wieght was 230 pounds and his neck measured 32 inches around. Live weight was pretty close to 300 pounds.
