Increasing speed with T.R.U. Accelerator Balls?
Just got my 2003 Cabelas Archery Catalog and the T.R.U. Accelerator Balls caught my eye. It states using them can increase your speed by 12 fps.
Anyone use them, and do they work? I don' t have a chrony to verify their claim.
I know 12 fps is not much but I thought if they do work the additional speed could at least offset the speed lost from using a peep, string loop, nock, etc.

I have tried them on a couple different bows and did see some speed increase; but only about 4 to 5 feet per second. Ive never seen more than 8 to 10 fps but they do work some.

I have used them with some speed increase, 6 -8 fps. You will not notice much increase with a single cam, maybe some or a little loss of speed. At least this has been my experience.

If you want to gain the most speed, you should do it by shooting light arrows. I shoot Carbon Express CX 200s through my MagnaTec set at 65 lbs, and I am shooting at 275-280 fps, which is fast for a MagnaTec. I talked to my pro shop about the accelerator balls, and they said that they show little increases, if they show an increase at all.

cheap & easy way to go is to either double a set of catwhiskers, then cut them small. Or put a few release buttons on. Just as effective & cheaper. And you should have a chrono on hand to find the sweet spot!!
