Did anyone see the Hunter' s Journal on the Outdoor Channel? This guy shoots a 150-160 class 10 point and climbs down from his tower stand (Mexico) and says " I missed this buck yesterday. He was 375 yards and we had a 30 mile an hour crosswind." WTF???????????? 375 yards with a 30 mile an hour crosswind then why the **** was he shooting at it? That kind of stuff just pisses me off[:@] I sent them an email stating how bright I felt it was to make those kind of remarks on TV. It was WRONG to do it in the first place but if you are stupid enough to take a shot like that and then admit it on camera, shouldn' t the editor have enough sense to CUT that out of the show? That' s a **** shame. Just had to vent! [X(]

]Yes! I did here him say that, but I thought I heard it wrong. Im glad someone else caught that ; that is totally ridiculous. I hope that unexperienced hunters dont start thinking that stuff is ok.

I saw it too and thought it was a stupid risk. Now I know I wasn' t alone.
It was almost as bad as Mathews Pro Staff taking 70 yard shots at caribou. They were successful shots . . . but weak on ethics.

Some of the stuff I see on some of these shows amaze me sometimes. There are some great shows don' t get me wrong, but there are also some really pathetic stuff also. I didn' t see this episode because I pretty much only watch the shows that when they are bowhunting. I tape them sometimes when I am gone, and I remember a few months ago I taped the show Northwest hunter and they were rifle hunting for Mulies. I ended up watching it and wished I didn' t. Towards the end they jumped up a real nice mulie and the host was just cranking off shots at this buck running all over. At one point the deer was running completely straight away from him and he was shooting. You could see the dirt flying around the deer where he was missing. It was ridiculous. On another show once, I believe it was Exploring the Outdoors, they showed the hosts wife at a hunting preserve in Pennsylvania hunting deer with a crossbow. They showed her in this plush lodge, thenher and the guide drove out to the hunting area, walked a whole 50 yards to one of the automatic lift blinds ( she didn' t even have to climb a ladder), where they sat in these cushioned chairs and were completely out of the elements. Well, right on time all the deer start heading into the feed plot they are hunting over, and she makes a horrible high shot on this buck. Then they show them sitting with the deer later on, and this women says " I am really glad to have this buck. We worked really hard for this deer!" I about fell out of my chair laughing. She walked a total of about 50 yards and didn' t even have to climb her stand to hunt deer that feed in the same plot probably every night. Whew that was a tough hunt. The next day at work I had three different guys come up to laughing about it. Made for some good humor! It amazes me sometimes the stuff that they leave in the show.
