Thanks for all the kind words guys. He was shot in Vermilion county, east central illinois.
Not really much of a story. He was the 6th deer to come out in my small 1/2 acre soybean plot. The does and fawns had already moved off into my 1 acre corn plot before he even popped out into the plot. He left for a minute following the trail that the does had come to the field on but came back out and started fedding.
He fed for what seemed forever and would look my way when I grunted and snort weezed at him but was more worried about filling his belly. He finally made over to within 20 yards but I could not stand and shoot because of a limb.I was wondering how I was going draw my bow with out hitting the side rail of my stand.
He then turned his head away from me and lip curled, aloowing me to lean out and draw my bow from the seated position. Got back on him no problem and make a pretty routine 20 yard shot.
Heres a couple more better pics of him from today (in the rain). He grossed 150 5/8.
