Hello all,
I decided that i will try my hand at rattling for the first time this year. My main concern is when to do it. I am hunting in northeast Wisconsin and it just started to get into the 50's consistantly about a week ago with more cold to come. I was wondering if anybody had any advice as to when to rattle?

Young, do you hunt pressured deer or lightly pressured deer? No matter what you answer to the first question, I really would not start rattling until around late October/early November. However, if you have seen or heard of guys rattling in bucks this early in your area, then heck go ahead. Best of luck.

I wouldnt start rattling till about Oct 20th depending on the deer activity. I been out the last two nites seeing alot of bucks but there just not aggressive yet. I had a little 4 pt by me today about 50 yds and I got Buck Roar grunt tube out just too see what hed do and he was curious and came in and checked it out....but im not a big fan of grunt or rattling this early give her a couple of weeks.......I do my best with a rattle bag vs. grunt tube jmo
