The wait is killing me!!

I shot a doe last night at last light 52 yard shot open feild and sure I gut shot her. I work third shift so I scanned the area quickly and found nothing so I went home to get ready for work. This night is dragging by cause I want to get out and recover my deer! So hopefully this morning since I let her go she did not go far and it will be easy to recover.

Good luck, hope you find her. You did the right thing buy pulling out and letting her lay and expire. Knowing where you hit your deer is so important so you know whether you should be looking or waiting.

I will shoot what I am comfortable with! Thanks

You shot how far? You hit her where?

If thats a comfortable shot, why'd you put one in the paunch?

52 yards is alot of time to react, not surprised with the outcome.

I'd take a 52 yarder under the correct circumstances. Stuff happens and she got hit in the guts. Guess what it could happen just the same at 10 yards at 52. You'll be fine twild just dive in and do your best and you'll find her.

Can't argue with any of this post!!

What does surprise me is the cavalier approach by the original poster regarding distance and shot placement, on the internet.

TWILDASIN: Just curious, were you using an overdraw and mechanicals?

Good luck finding your deer, I'm interested in the outcome of this one.

First off deer is recovered!! Second off I really need to stop underestimeting my shooting! I smoked her exactly where I aimed in the front shoulder she was quartering to slightly so the arrow passed threw and came out threw the intestines between the legs thus the noise I heard thinking the worst that I gut shot her when actually the shot was perfect! She went a maximum of 40 yards. Now for you guys who say " what the hell are you doing shooting that far?". Well actually I shoot out to 60 yards and I do it everytime I shoot outdoors if possible. To each his own I guess sorry if I dissapointed anyone but I would take that shot again over and over again it was perfect except for her to quarter to at the last minute! She was smoked with my new 09' Captain shooting Easton lightspeeds 500 spine with a 57gr. Rocket mini blaster shooting 326 fps. Sorry for no pictures I don't have a computer I use my iPhone.
