Default Wisconsin Buck Down! 1st deer with a mech

I tagged this guy last Saturday morning at twenty after 7. The morning didnt start off so hot though! I have walked to this stand a bunch of times and have always been able to find my way by the moonlight, but I guess I had never tried it with a new moon because it was pitch black in the woods. After awhile I could just tell I had walked to far but I couldnt make out any landmarks. So I just plopped on a stump until I could see well enough to get to my stand. At about 6 I could see better, and realized I had gone 200 yards in the wrong direction. I didnt see anything until 7:20 when this guy wandered up and gave me a 20 yard broadside shot. I put the arrow on the money and he piled up in 50 yards. It was my first deer with a mech, and I am really impressed with the G5 tekan. It blew right threw him and left a great blood trail. I think I'll be using them for awhile.
