Wisconsin opening day success!
1 Attachment(s)
I hunted this morning on public land in Wisconsin and arrowed this guy! It was a nice way to start the season! It was a hot and sweaty half mile drag out, but it was worth it.

Awesome buck! Congratulations!

Really nice buck! Hey Wisconsin, that's where i live. I think it's going to be so awesome hunting in this warm weather. I'm only used to gun hunting season which starts late november. BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
|
You call that worth the drag??
Haha just kidding, great buck man. What a great way to start off the season! Congrats! |
Beauiful!
I saw nothing today. I gotta start hunting the Jackson Marsh! |
Congrats on a very nice buck. Was he just passing through or feeding on something? Just wondering what they are feeding on? Chances of me getting out tomorrow are slim, hopefully next weekend to hunt public land also.

He came down the trail at 6:15 and gave me a broadside shot at 10 yards. At the shot he bolted under my tree stand ran 20 yards to my right and stood behind a cedar tree, just looking around and trying to decide which way to go. The way he acted I was convinced that I had missed him. He eventually wandered off (I couldn't see him because of the brush). I glassed my arrow and the ground and didn't see any blood. I was really bummed out figuring that I had missed. Through out the next 3 hours I would glass the ground occasionally and at 9:30 I saw a drop of blood. I climbed down got my gear together and checked out my arrow. The arrow had blood on in and a fletching missing. I tracked him with a very light blood trail 80 yards and found him. It looked like a good double lung hit, but I've never had a deer act so calm after being hit. I wonder if the fletching blocked the exit hole? I forgot to check while field dressing him.
