Starting in Sept I start doing one-shot practices, several times per day. I have found that I really benefit from that, just getting the feeling for how it is going to feel in the treestand when I need to shoot without any warm up. I'll usually shoot maybe 10 arrows a day, but all are just one shot at a time. I shoot in the morning before I head to the gym, just one arrow, then when I get back home, one more arrow before I head to work. Then, in the evenings, I'll shoot the rest of them between 5 and 10 p.m., but again, just one at a time. I've got the bow in my bedroom, and the target out the sliding door, so all my stuff is right there.

I guess I am different than most in the forum, seeing as I don't practice much. I spend way more time scouting than shooting. I'm not that fanatical about bowhunting, in fact if it wasn't for archery season opening first I wouldn't hunt with a bow at all.

for me i must satisfy my OCD and shoot daily....do take a few days off here and there but i LOVE my shooting bows and wouldn't have it any other way!! nice also to be able to shoot in my own yard & from trees in the yard --- lots of times i'm entertaining the does that are watching me!!

I shoot two to three times a week up through July, four times a week through August-early September, and five times a week in late September. During the season, I try to shoot at least three times a week.
