Aren't these the ones with the wire around the ferrule? If so, I've heard nothing but "they're junk" from every review and source that I've read about them in...

Here are the broadheads I am talking about
http://www.arrowds.com/atom/atom.htm

I was interested in them when they came out, but never tried them. So I was internet browsing and just read a thread on archery talk http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=916176 and it renewed my interest in them. Just want to hear from anyone that has real world experience with them. Thanks.

I field tested them when they first came out, I didn't like them at all... no way a wire is tough as a solid piece of steel.

I assume when you say field tested you mean you shot something with them right? Did they not perform well? Pass thru's? Did the wires come out?
Thanks.

Stay away from them. I have never shot an animal with them nor would I. Last year a friend and I were shooting broadheads at my house. He had these heads. We were shooting a rhinehart deer and a block target. It took a 1/2 hour shooting these heads until he broke one of them in the rhinehart target. Two of the blades were broke and bent all up. That happened in an 1/2 hour shooting. They will never see my quiver!

Cool looking head though.
