attractants and food plots

Well in Illiniois if you put 3 round haybales together to make a ground blind you might get busted for baiting.
however I plan to throw out a halfassed food plot of oats ryegrass and winter wheat into the weeds around my stand... so that when the tall weeds are brown the winter wheat will be green and it will protect it from the deer untell the right time. which do not know know why i bother because there is 30 acres of alphalpha to the south and east of my stand and i am 50 yards from the end of the funnel.

If you are planning on using an attractant, then why plant in the first place? If you've planted the right stuff, IMO you shouldn't need some powder.

I'm guessing that he wants to attract the deer to the food plot, so that they become aware of his plot. Attractants use strong odors to lure deer to a certain location. Whenever i put my feeder in a new location i always dump out a bottle of Buck Jam to lure the deer in, so that they become aware of the corn.
