Just one thing that I have found from my Leupold RXII. It will not range BLACK objects. I shoot hogs and have to range the ground under them. I am kind of disapointed in that.

OK, here it is. Last year I was up on a huge rock where I sit and use my spotting scope and the deer I wanted traveled around it in thick pines. It was like shooting out of a high tree. I shot at him two times at what my range finder said was 65 yards. I must note that I practice shots up to 70 yards constantly and have been doing this for years with good accuracy. Needless to say I shot over him both times. Dead center but high. If I would have had the rangefinder ur talking about I think it would have helped alot but this was a unique situation. By the way he came back and I got him at 45 yards anyway. So unless your hunting at extreme hights with a bow, up or down, its probable not needed.
