What s the longest shot you have ever taken with a bow(any kind of animal)?

I shot a couple of does this past year at 41 yds, according to my rangefinder.

26 yards from the groundon a late December doe.. Not very far, but at the time that was the cut-off for me. I doubt I'll take a shot past 30 this year also.

On 2 different occasions I've taken a 22 yard shot with my recurve, both double lung shots. Never attempted a shot farther then that.

My longestkill was 42 yards (deer). I have never even shot at one past 30 since then.

My longest was a buck at 32! I think I am going to make a restriction for myself at 25yds from here on out! I am confident out to 40 with my bow, but I do not want to risk it anymore!!

30-ish yards on the doe i got two years ago. Last year i upgraded to a new, much faster bow to help on those longer shots and the two deer i arrowed last year were both inside 10 yards haha. I can confidently shoot pie plate groups out to fifty or so yards but I don't think I wouldn't shoot for blood past 35.

37 yard buck last year. The way and places i hunt usually dont allow for longer shots, but i am not afraid to take them. I would say the limit to my shot is however confident i and certain i am in taking that animal at that particular time. Ive drawn back at plenty of deer not just far (under 30) adn felt that the situation wasnt right, so i let down. But i wouldnt be afraid to take a shot upwards of 50yds if i was confident...

Farthest shot that i announce as my claim to fame[8D] 33 yards... black bird with a judo tip hahahahahaha[:-]

35 metres shot a rabbit in the head. I only take long shots on rabbits but restrict myself to 20 metres or less on larger Australian game.

iwas shooting at an excellent 8 sitting in my brother in laws stand...shh!!! i shot the buck at 35 yards the only problem was that he was standing at 25 yards to i missed clean over his back. i guess thats what i get for sneaking into someone elses stand.

I shot a doe at 40, and a maimed BB at 38.5yds verified by my rangefinder from about 45ft above him last year.

Out west I've killed some animals at some distances in the wide open plains. Won't throw out any numbers as I really don't want the Ethics evanglists preaching to me.

Ehtical shots require consideration of a lot of variables, and only one is the distance. Many unethical shots are taken every year at less than 30 yards.

If I take a shot I have all the confidence in the world that arrow will find it's mark or Iwon't let it go.;)

52 yards on an American Bison and he went 50 yds. 26" draw, 65lbs., 100 gr Muzzy...slightly quartering away and buried in the boiler room.....I was pleasantly surprised at the result!!!![/align]

34 yards on a buck about 5-6 years ago. 30 yards on a doe 2 years ago. Every other shot I have taken has been less than 30 yards, and most where around 20 yards.

Thirty one yards at a doe facing me a couple of years ago. Even though she didn't go very far and I recovered her, it was a shot that I wouldn't take again.

X2! Thats what i was talking about in my post... Ive drawn back on many deer that are within easy range, but have thought taking the shot would be bad, so didnt do it.

bout 18 yrds but that is my only shot ive taken i have a 10 20 and a 30 yrd pin

I like neck meat. I will be making only head shots. After I align the two feathers with the edges of my BH the arrows will fly like lasers.

It's a Good thing you are aligning things up otherwise you'd never hit one!![8D]

Better put an overdraw on and cut your arrows super short to gain that speed! Doesn't matter about spine as long as they are plenty Stiff!!:eek:

Maybe then you can shoot one pin out to 80 yards or just set your pin on 80 and wait til they get that far away:D

I may try the New Dukeboy Broadheads this year!! I hear all you have to do is get close[:-]

I was aiming for the neck because i wanted a quick kill, and i have a new bow this year and i have worked on my shooting much more than i did last year. Last year i was only confident to 30.
