Here in PA the law states that you must have at least 35 pounds of draw weight. I'd like to see that number up to 45 personally. Shot placement is ALWAYS key though.

In NH the lowest draw weight was 45 lbs., but they dropped it to 40 lbs. a few years back.
So check with your state first.

Easily just as BHotty said!! I know many people who've shot whitetails and bear pulling 35 to 40lbs.

Well it won't drop them unless you spine em, haha, But 35-40 is plenty for making a clean kill on whitetails. My brother shot his first deer with the bow with a 35lb and had a complete pass thru at 18 yards, deer went 50 yards, and my gf shot her first deer this last year with 38lbs at 16 yards, no pas thru hitting of shoulder but the huge doe only went 80 yards. Here it the video of the gfs kill. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.a...=&#3361463
Low poundage just has distance limitations thats all, under 30 yards is perfect. WCL

No Problem! Kat shoots 40# and dropped her Doe with a complete pass through.
