Based on my reading, the thermocell works on mosquittos so I ordered one, but was wondering if they also worked on No see ums. We have as many of them as we do skeeters. The no see ums are worse than skeeters to me.

You guys keep posting these threads on skeeters and noseeums and I remember why I don' t live there any more. Man I used to get eaten up with those things when I would go out redfish and spec fishing just before dusk. I sure miss the fishing in Pensacola but I don' t miss the biting insects. Those dog flies along the Gulf in August and September too! Thanks for reminding me.[8D]

PA, They' re a very small insect , about skin color(No see um), that bite similar to a misquitoe . They are a pain in the a$$ down in the deep south...........I don' t about anywhere else !!

Yeah and when they bite they ich for about a week or more. They leave little red dots all over your skin. Pain in the a$$ is right they attack in swarms and are relentless. I once had to build a fire on the shore while red fish fishing from the shore and literally stand in the smoke to keep from being bitten.

I checked the thermocell out myself and imo it' s fine for cookouts and fishing but the ones i' ve seen made a noise and i wouldn' t use it when hunting. It wasn' t real loud but it was loud enough that the deer in my neck of the woods would hear it and probably anywhere else especially on those nice calm afternoons or mornings.
I have to edit my post, i made a mistake the unit i was talking about wasn' t a thermacell it was something else. Ijimmy is right I talked with the folks at thermacell and they assured me that it is silent and odrless. I' ve been using a Shannon bug tamer but i may just have to give the thermacell a try this fall and see for myself how well it works.

Noone should be without one ! An ecellent product , And yes they work on noseeums .Something fun to do is go with your buddy early archery season you use one and have him go without at the end of the day you' ll know they work . They are ouderless and make no sound , not sure if the other guys are talking about another product ,
