HOW did it take me so long?
#1
After my last day of chasing gobblers yesterday I wonder how it took me so long to get into this.
I have hunted whitetails for 11 years now, however last year was my first year in the turkey woods.
Last years hunt was done before it got started as we had a tom in front of us at 40 yards in no time. This year to mix things up I decided to break the Mathews out and head after them. Although I never even had a close encounter with a tom (could of shot a bearded hen), I had some of the best days walking over the ridges and streams hoping to hear a lone tom gobble.
I have a feeling that a new addiction is forming for years to come.....

Turkey hunting is an addiction for sure.
Took this video the other day of hen next to blind. Called this hen in at two different locations.

I have never hunted turkeys before either but plan on trying it this may.. Turkeys have been getting stocked up here over the last several years and just the past 2 years in my area. I will be traveling across state somewhat as the season is not open here just yet due to the stocking program still going on here.

I was kind of late into the Turkey addiction also. Didn't have many Turkey close and still don't although there are parts of IL that has good populations.
A good friend of mine is a Turkey addict and I finally gave in. After killing a couple with a Shotgun I opted for the bow and 6 Gobblers later I'm glad I did!
Nothing like a spring morning with Turkeys Gobbling on the roost.
