Default New 101 Problem

I have a 101 70# and I just bought a used 101 60# and this thing is impossible to tune. I have it tuned but the limb driver is shifted to the left of center creating a hell ofa problem with my surelok sight especially ifI extend it out there 8". The bow appears to be in perfect condition but it has me worried now. I got it sighted in but I had to jimmy an extra portion of the octogon tubing on the scope to get it to extend far enough. This is really frustrating. My 70# shoots great at center (i.e. limbdriver setting in the very bottom of the shelf). Any suggestions or possible tests to see if there is any bent components???

Sounds like an arrow issue to me??? I had my LD on my 101st and had 0 issues what so ever. It tuned just fine with the LD and was set to center.

Nothing special ever had to be done or anything to get the setup to tune. The bow shot excellent.

I had to have my rest right of center on my 82nd.

Check the string stop, string should be offset to the left one string length at rest if right handed. This made a big difference with the tune on my brother's 82nd.

all very good questions, but I have checked almost all. the cams are in the identical position. I am a fanatic when it comes to that. V suppressor removed and flat stop added. cam lean, I sighted the cams with the limb and all appears to be equal but I did't check at full draw. i have 2 bows and the 70# is at 67 which is perfect and 60 is near max, but did not weigh. I do not have a laser but I have 25 hours into attempting to tune this bow. I varied my grip, my twist on the d loop, stance, etc. Noticed some variation but the ONLY way that I could get it tuned was at least 1/8" to the left of center and that is a long way off with a 9" surelok. Arrows are the same for both bows, which are xt hunter gold tip 5575. 70# is working good so I am not sure why it would be the arrow. At center, it shoots down to the right. I have placed it into a vice and leveled it perfect along with sitting it directly into the center position. My next step might be to have it disassembled and inspected. I will be fine for league night with where it is at but it is not cool. Thanks for all of the great suggestions.

I suspect the arrow spineis too stiff for the 60# bow. It may be slightly stiff for the 70# bow and then, when you try and shoot it out of the 60#, the stiff spinebecomes abig problem, as you can see.

I agree! Stiff arrow spine can cause that type of a problem. Is the bow walk back tuned? Are the arrows from 20 to 50 yards all flying in the same vertical plane?

Hope you get it worked out! I had 2-08 82nds and both tuned right down the middle

No. It is not vertical tuned. At 40yds, was hitting a softball size 50% of the time but the ones that were out were off by 6 inches. I went to 20 yards and I was off by 8 inches. I can see the arrows circle. Tonight I was holding a 8 inche diameter pattern at 48 yards with a slight breeze with my hunting rig 70# with an HHA site and 10" stabilizer. I move to the target bow 60# with surelok 4x scope swaraski (sp?) with a 30" fuse stab. and 1 clarifier and I can't hit crap. With paper at 10', I am hitting bullets and in the center with the 70# and with the 60# I am 3/16" to the left of center just to get the best tune and it is not a bullet. The site needed to be jimmied ~1.5 inches to the left just to get it to align. I feel like swapping the risers to see what that doe but then turkey comes in within a week. Anyone know if you can send it to Bowtech to have it looked at???

Bruce and Dan are probly right.
Try to verify if the spine is too stiff.Borrowa buddy's longer shaft and/or throw a 125 grain tip on the arrow to see if you can weaken the dynamic spine. If the arrows are good in the 70, they're probly not right for the 60. You could turn the 70 down to 60 to see if the arrowsare too stiff for 60.

This would be a lot simpler than switching risers although I admire your willingness to diassemble stuff.

You are the 3rd person to say that the spline is too stiff. I was informed to give amaxima 150 a try.I don't uderstand it but I will give it a try if it eliminates my pain.
