Cateyes headlamp for the walk in, I have completely submerged that thing Duck hunting and it keeps going. Blood trailing, I like the older mag-lights that arent LED and Colman 6V flashlights. Surefires are great, but often times are too bright for the blood trail for my likeing.

The nice thing about an LED flashlight is that it won't go dead on you. They'll get gradually dimmer, but the the dimmer it gets the less power it will consume. It might not be as bright but it's better than being stranded without a light. The other thing about LED is that they're not all created equal in the brightness department, if the package doesn't say how many lumens, don't buy it. My favorite is a rayovac that uses 2 AA batteries, an aluminum housing and has 45 lumens. They sell them at Walmart for only $18 and it clips in my pocket like a pocket knife; it might not be the best but it's affordable and small enough that I never leave it behind.
