Default Question before I buy them....

I have been looking into buying some 2 inch blazer white tiger vanes. I have heard they can tighten groups......but not for sure what everyone says about them that have actually used them. I shoot a Mathews Switchback with a Ripcord Dropaway.I use 85 grain Montecs. I was wondering if blazers fly better on a lighter arrowor one with some weight?...ordoes it really matter? The reason for asking is because I have some lighter Satellite Platinum Seriesarrows that I used this year that are muchlighter than my other arrows that are Carbon Express Terminator Hunter 6075. I was wanting to fletch the carbon express arrows with the Blazer vanes for this years hunting but wanted to make sure that Blazer Vanes would work alright with these arrows. I was also looking at putting some arrow wraps on my arrows....if anyone has any pictures of their arrows with blazer vanes or wraps they could post that would be great so I can get some ideas.

Thanks!
Kash

The blazers are a great vane for any weight arrow. They are nearly indestructible. I have an arrow that has been through two deer and two years of practice with the same set of blazers. Mine are not particularly unique - just two orange and one white with no wrap.

I will agree, I am really pleased with the blazer vanes. They adhere really well, but the only thing you need to look out for is to try and get the ones with a touch narrower base, they will fletch up better. Look at onestringer's wraps in the classifieds, they do great work, are cheap and will get em to you fast.

Blazers for me too! I've had no problems with them. Many passthru's on both foam and real animals without malfunction.

I don't shoot Blazers, but know many who do. I have my reasons so I'll leave it at that. I do have to say that there is nothing magical abut Blazers that will make them group better than any other type of vane. How well arrows shoot and group is merely a matter of picking a properly spined arrow and tuning the bow/arrow combination. If the tune is good then any vane/feather will work well.

Blazers do a good job of stabilization due to their stiffness and high profile. I think a lot of guys use them because they are shorter so allow a litle more time for a drop away rest to get down and out of the way. They also work better than softer vanes when shooting through rests like the Whisker Bisquit as they hold their shape better. Then there are those who shoot them simply because they see other shooting them.

They can produce some problems. One being that with the higher profile they may make contact with the cable(s). This can often be solved by using a cable slide that pulls the cables farther to the side or adjusting the cable rod if possible.

But make no mistake about it. If your equipment is not tuned well no type of vane is going to improve the grouping ability of the arrows and broadheads can and will fly ugly.

ZachCL......you say to buy the ones with a narrower base I was just wondering if you know any stores or a place online that will sell the ones that seem to have a more narrow base? I have looked on Cabelas website but they seem a little higher priced than some other sites that I have seen so I might shy away from Cabelas when I buy the Blazer Vanes.
