Welcome newbowe!

I started last year and it is fun and very addictive. Oh, and quite challenging. If your lucky, you' ll catch them when they are everywhere and the shots just keep coming. Here is my first fish with a bow last April 14th. I' ve been hookd ever since!

Bowfishing is alot of fun! If you haven' t ever done it, once you do you look forward to it just like opening of the deer season. Its a great way to break up the long off season of deer hunting. Mid april trough mid june are top times in central Minnesota.

Give it a try!

I contacted DeerWater Outfitters and they said to aim 4-6" low for each foot of water the fish is under. I guess it takes alot of practice to hit a fish!

Bowfishing is a blast. I do it in eastern Washington state for carp. Here the best time to look for them is early in the moring or in the evening. The fish come to the surface to feed so you can virtually aim right at them.

We use a flat bottom boat and a electric motor so we can sneak right up on them.

Have fun!

I aim just a little back and just a little lower than the fish maby 1/2 to 1 inch. I will tell you if you ever go bow fishing for gar and you see one with the eyes about 4inches apart and you decide to take the shot. You had better know your fishing rig and hold on tight becouse if you hit it all HE-- is about to brake loose. Been there did that. Fun for about that long. No I did not get it in and had I gotten it to the boat I dont know where I would have put it. It looked like it was as long as the boat and that was the last time I saw it.

I' VE BEEN BOWFISHING FOR 3-4 YEARS BUT VERY LIMITED HERE IN ALASKA. ONLY NORTHERN PIKE TILL THIS YEAR WE WILL BE ABLE TO SHOOT WHITEFISH AND SUCKERS...BUT THAT WILL BE A 6-8 HR DRIVE FOR THOSE. PIKE AR FAIRLY CLOSE. HEADING TO MO AND LA. NEXT MONTH TO TRY SOME REAL BOWFISHING I' M REALLY EXCITED. I WOULD RATHER BOWFISH THAN FIGHT THE CROWDS FISHING FOR SALMON.
