How much are the tags?

$10 for lottery chance. If drawn its $25 for the metal leg tag..atleast it was back when I got drawn.

I have alot of family in Eastern KY, and have always wanted to enter for the Elk draw there. But, I live and hunt for Elk in Utah, and a Resident General Bull Archery Tag is only $45, so I have never applied.

During a visit to KY last spring, I was with my uncle at his place outside of Pikeville, KY and we came across this herd bedded down in one of his fields. He hates them cause they always tear up his corn field each fall, but and his boy have takena bulleach year. In plain sight, and in the rain and mud, we were able to park on the road and walk along his fence line to less than 20 yards from the herd... before they even stood up(seeattached pictures). You can bet that NEVER happens out west!!

After seeing that, I am certain that I will NOT be applying for an Elk tag in KY anytime soon... at least not while I still live in UT.

For non-resident........$10 application fee, $365 for elk tag(if drawn), and $130 annual hunting license.......$505 total if drawn. I assume that is for either a bull tag or cow tag. I don't want to spend $505 for a cow.
