Looking at a 2002 Mathews SQ2. 70#, good condition, and is fully rigged (functional, not flashy). What would be a reasonable price?

$250-$300 is all I would ever pay and thats if I REALLY wanted a certain older bow- I can't think of many I'd bother with to spend the coin on, but...

Personally I'd save my money and maybe sell what I had and buy something new/a year or two old at the most.

That's what I was thinking. It's for a buddy of mine that wants to get into archery, and he is willing to spend $300 for a full-rig. Any suggestions on a lower-end new one?

Check out the Diamond & Ross lines. The Diamond line has some bows in the $400 to $500 range new.

Another option is checking classifieds for a top line bow that is 1 to 2 years old. Good Luck!!

Just sold one of the SQ2's for a friend a few months ago. We got 350 shipped for it. I though that was a great price for a 4 year old bow to bring. Personally, for one, I am a Bowtech/Diamond fan and you can pick up left over 08 Marquis and Black Ice's for less than 5 bills nowadays. Not that those same bows used are much less though. Check the classifieds here and on other sites. (AT,BH) There are lots of deals to be had. If you are looking at a solid 300 dollar bow. I saw at Gander this week that they were blowing out their 08 Parkers at like half price.(250-275) My only dealings have been with a TrailBlazer XP of a friend's of mine. It's a nice shootin bow. Good luck and shoot straight.

PS Don't forget the almighty Ebay. A good friend of mine snatched a NIB Marquis on there a few months ago for 450. That's a heck of a buy.
