I love the idea of just using a knot or slipknot!!

I also have a Strapper Gear Retriever, but it is plastic and makes noise. Using JUST rope, would eliminate ALL the noise.

I use small wax coated string to lift my bow up and down. One end Is tied to the tree and the other end that I connect to the bow Is a small twig 5/8ths In diameter about 3" long that I tie the string to. I've been doing this for years and never had one break. It's cheap and easy. Find a small twig or branch on the ground and tie the string to It and your set.
