RE: Rubber boots or leather for scent control?

If you are disciplined enough to not wear your leathers while not in the woods, they are probably as good as the rubber boots. However, I am not. I would step in a fuel spill walking from the truck to get a pack of Red Man at the local Exxon. For me, I will stick with the rubber boots. I just think they hold the stink in better, and collect less outside odors. Just my opinion,
Chris

I've always been a die hard rubber boot guy. Its just what I always grew up hearing as the only way to go. I meant to do an experiment this fall with my leather boots.I scrubbed them inside & out with scent free soap and had planned to wear them often and see if i noticed any difference. But for whatever reason, I never did wear them except when i was on the ground & still hunting.

One of the biggest lessons taught to me about the outdoors was to stay dry. Maybe it's just me but you can literally wring out my socks after wearing rubber boots. Like others have said, I've been busted in both. I stick with leathers only now. If they have scent lock or whatever in them, great, but I wouldn't base buying decisions on that. I pretty much stick with Danners for all my boots.
