RE: Do you keep a hunting journal?

yes in my mind ,no not on paper. i see so many deer every season that i don't think it is necessary. i've been hunting deer since 1979 and have learned quite a bit since then.

If I kept a journal people could flip through it and sort the lies from the half truths in my hunting stories around the campfire. Now, what a disaster that would be. We'd have to go to bed at 7:00 if all the stories had to be true.

Yes, I keep a log and VIDEO when ever the weather permits taking a camera. The video tape can be watched several times over to observe deer reactions to different situations. Also, at the start of each day of video taping, I mention the weather conditions as well as making sure the "auto date and time" are being shown on the screen during taping. Plus, it is also fun just to watch.

davidmil, nobody ever said anything about everything in the log being COMPLETELY truthful, we've most likely all got a bit of fisherman in us!
