For the life of me I cannot find the website where you can actually zoom in on a specific spotsuch as a house, etc. Doing a little reconnizance(sp) of some local areas for hunting. Somebody here had a link quite a while back.....maybe davidmil? Anyone know?

google earth works in most places.

Or try this link http://maps.live.com/

you have to select 3D from the bar on top.

You can do this on Weather.com, as well as Mapquest. I like Weather.com, since I can get the forecast for my hunting spot at the same time.
However, for the most choices of imagery, you might try Terraserver. But you will have to pay for it.

Google Earth is great as it allows you to actually look at terrain features from a first person perspective. Google maps will also show satellite imagery, but only in 2d. Acme Mapper will show both terrain as well as topographic maps of a location.

Actually this one is a bit better as you get a bigger map.

Here is a map in 2d using the birds eye feature? This feature is not available in 3d but the 3d feature is pretty cool.

Wow, I never messed with MS maps before. That's a great shot right there. I'm going to have to play with that some now.
