RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
I would have been bummed if you would have shot her in that situation. Two thumbs up for doing the honorable thing.

RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
Some threads I read on here sometimes make me wonder why I come here. Your story, this thread, hunters like you, are why I come here

RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
Very cool story. Shooting her would not have been hunting for you and you stood your ground on it. Good for you!!!
![]() Also take a look at the quote by Roger Rothhaar below. It fits well to your story. |
RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
I agree with everyone else, very cool. I believe I would have done the same and felt very good about it.I alsodon't need to kill something to have a good hunt.

RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
Good for you! That had to be very rewarding! I had a similiar encounter where I had to handle some sort of small crane (bird) for about 5 minuteswhile attemptingto remove this piece of cloth, which looked like a raggedy oldhankercheif off from in and aroundit's beek. Seeing that bird fly away, and over to the other two birds that were "skwaking" the whole time I was handelingtheir buddy, was very fulfilling. These are the stories that none hunters have to hear about "us", to let them know that it's not always about the harvesting of the animal, but rather our respect for them.
I think you'll have somegood karma coming to you next season foryour "last day success". Nice work! |
RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
That IS success..What a cool story, sometimes the best/craziest days in the woods are the ones that end without anything dead in the back of the truck.. Cool story, thanks for sharing

RE: Last day success... of a different kind!
Hey guys thanks for the kind words. I did what I thought needed to be done! I'm sure everyone here would of done the same. I feel I did the right thing, I don't like to see anything suffer! It was a rewarding type of experience that I'll probably never forget or want to, I'm so glad it worked out the way it did! :)
