I hope he is still there tomorrow
I found a classic place for a climber. I found an access trail to a swamp covered on both sides by bedding and thick cover. I got in later than I planned, about 2 pm. I tied my stuff to hoist line, and by the time I was 10 ft in the air, I looked overto my right and he was at the wateredge drinking. The wnd was in my face, and I was camoed from head to toe so i dont think he winded me or saw me, just simply drank his water and returned to the woods,
I climbed to my distance, and heard him moving about for several minutes. This deer is very mature, smart as a whip, and in the right spot to never be seen...until I was able to get in there.
The whole afternoon I saw many smaller bucks but nothing like the haus i saw drinking. Im going in an hour ortwo before light and set up in a slightly similar place. I want him bad, so I will sit it out all day if need be.

Hoyt good luck,,,i shot my biggest buck on a hunch like that..got up one morning and wasnt to content on hunting just was to lazy to go through all the trouble..but i had that feeling of "im killin a deer today" and i shot a 14 point out of a tree that i thought was good...and i was right..hunt out of that tree every other year, and seem to do pretty well out of it. Stick with it and goodluck.
