The Passing of a Friend. (Prayer Request)
#1

I know we all know the power or prayer.
I don't ask this of or for myself but for the family, the wife, children and grandchildren.
A very dear friend of mine and friend of the industry, Greg "Doc" Caldwell passed away this last week. Saturday we buried him and it was very hard on me, still is.
Doc was the President and owner of River Valley Game Calls as well as a chiropractor, valued member of the NWTF and beloved father, husband, grandfather and more.
Doc, at 60 had a heart attack while meeting with a partner to talk about River Valley's future.
Doc also put his heart and soul into the youth mentor program which started here in PA with the NWTF, PGC and spread to other states. Doc is the originator of this. His passion and love for the wild turkey and all wildlife, our youth and hunting in general was unsurpassed. He always left leaving a smile behind.
The world is a better place because of Doc.
I look in the mirror and I ask myself that same question.
Don't take your friends for granted. Don't take your family for granted as tomorrow you may not have the opportunity to say hello, to say I love you.
In closing and I ask for prayers for his family to find peace as we all know Doc is spreading his smile in a better place until we can meet again.
This passage came from a life long friend of his and I thought it relavent to us all. What is a trophy?
"Greg genuinely showed his happiness when others had success in the field and would often step aside to give a companion the first opportunity, then with hearty entusiasm would congratulate the hunter with a "high five" or "manly" hug. He never took away on hint of the hunter's excitement and gratification even if the harvested animal was well below the standards Greg had set for himself. He knew and often said "
That a "Trophy" is highly personal and is often determined by the circumstances, events, and the individual feelings of accomplishment and not by a score card."[/align]

Sounds like a good man that had a positive impact on your life, and who knows how many others. I can only hope to be remembered like that after I'm gone.
My prayers are with all, and even though you don't ask for you, you're in them as well, Rob. God bless.
