Smoked'em!

My brother and I went out this morning, which we were for sure would be a promising morning for deer activity. With the temp gauge reading 28 with 1mph wind from the west, and afront coming in the afternoon...what better conditions could you possible want. At 545, I had not been in my stand no more than 15 min. and a deer came behind me, on the edge of the field at 20 yds. At 700, I had a doe come in at 70 yds. while feeding on browse. Hidden behind a small spruce tree, I was perched no more than 10-12 ft, because of a overhanging branch. Just as I susspected, the "doe" came in to my left at a quartering away shot. That was before a deer that I had no idea was behind me, blew when I drew back. I believe it was a buck, not sure how big, but I'm almost positive. Anyhow, the "doe" stopped, stomped to warn me, and took one more step at 15 yds. POW!Hit the vitals and the Muzzy blew through out thebase of the neck. The"doe" ran aimlesslyand crashed at 50yds. I've never seen such a bloody bath of a trail!
WhatI assumed was a"doe", turned out to beanubbin'. Oh well,we havegreat venison forChristmas!
