Racks are starting to shed.

Racks are starting to shed.
My brother had what use to be a 130" to 135" 9 point at 8 yards yesterday evening while out bow hunting. This guy lost both of his antlers In 2 days. He saw this same buck 2 days prior about 60 yards out from him chasing doe's. He had 2 different chances at this buck In early November but couldn't get a shot off. He did pass on him yesterday though being he lost his rack. By the looks of this buck I'd say he's a 3.5 year old. He'd go about 180lbs dressed. I saw this same buck while helping my brother put up a stand In October. Be careful If you are hunting In central to northern Minnesota. I wouldn't be pulling on a rack If you get one down. I've heard of a few other bucks dropping also around here.
By the way, the chase Is back up and going again around here. A few doe's that didn't get bred are coming Into estrus again. The doe fawns have been acting goofy also, there probably coming In also.

Luckily, our bucks down here don't shed until well after the season. I saw a buck in March this year that still had half of his rack.
I guess we can contribute that to our not-so-harsh winters.

I shot a doe/buck the last weekend of NY season, thought it was a mature doe ended up being a buck that had already dropped his bone off. We also talked ot another guy that knew of two buddies that shot bucks with drop horns, really early usually this happens mid to end of Jan or later in NY
