RE: True Confessions

I have all 3 I think for the most part....lots of deer, well, the buck to doe ration is wacked out but i don't care it's always been that way here and we still have big boys walking around, I have a decent amount of time on my hands for a guy who has 2 small boys ages 1 and 3....I still manage to hunt about 3-4 times a week...can't complain here

I hunt in Central IL, and this year was the first year on a new property. I was actually a little disappointed by my deer sightings, numbers wise, so I would have to say number 1 is a negative. LOTS of small bucks, forks and 6's. Buck/doe ratio looks really good though, which is exciting for next year. As for time to hunt, I think I'm right in the middle, with weekends dominating my hunting.

Luckily i have all 3. My buck to doe ratio might not be where it should be, but it isnt the worst in the world either. I cant complain.

ORIGINAL: Hoytail Hunter

1) If you hunt in a target rich environment just admit it.

2) If the doe/buck ratio is better than average just say so.

3) If you have way more time to hunt than thenext guy own that too.

I have all three of those components on my side. I attribute a good portion of this year's success to those 3things. My persistence, knowledge, and care taking is secondary. I could be as dilligent or careful as I can possibly be but if any of those 3 components were not there, my success would undeniably fall in directproportion.

I don't get it when guys get all huffy and puffy when someone points out the truth. I'm glad to be living where I am and aint ashamed to give credit where due.

Fess up men! or not, boys.
1: I do
2: Some of my spots, not all of them.
3: Not at all. I'm limited to some weekends. That one will bump up next year when I can drive myself though.

2. Negative
3. Affirmative

Same here.

I don't have a target rich enviroment.

I don't have a good buck to doe ratio.

Thankfully I can hunt every day at least in the evenings and take two weeks vacation our last 2 weeks (first two in Nov.)

I haven't hunted a ton of places for deer.....but Rob's is about the most "average" (and I mean that in a very complimentary manner)I've hunted. I think it's a VERY healthy area (buck:doe ratio/overall deer numbers).

I'd LOVE for my area to be more like his.

I'd love to add....I'd ONLY love that if I had the # of hunters I experience, here. Rob has issues I don't have to deal with.
