I gotta be off of the ground a ft or 2 to shoot accurately. How do you guys shoot a bow with your butt touching the ground? Not to mention shifting will cause noise with leaves.

Don I can't shoot my trad bow with my butt on the ground....but the noise issue I eliminate really quickly (as I do when I'm in any ground blind). I shift the leaves out from under me when I set up.....and get to bare earth.

I feel that when I go to the ground from a tree, I have severely eliminated my shot opportunities, due to the view has dramatically been restricted, not to mention clean lanes for arrow flight. And that is sitting 2- 2 1/2 ft off of the ground. I am not going to handicap myself anymore and lower myself down another 2- 2 1/2 ft and sit on my butt. Treestands are more successful than ground hunting, mainly, due to increased shot opportunities. The treestand hunter will out kill a ground pounder ANYDAY. Elevation is the ticket, is what I am sayin'.

I don't shoot with my but on the ground either, It's just there when I'm relaxing and there's no deer around. When I do shoot I'm on one knee or both knee's. I also remove all of the leaves and sticks that are where I'll be sitting on the ground. When the snow Is on the ground, I don't have to remove anything. If the snow Is crunchy I'll loosing It up by stirring It up some.

For some, others like to hunt different ways and don't really worry about out killing one another! I hunt for different animals while hunting from the ground, sometimes my deerhunt turns into a rabbit rather quickly! ;) Never had to many rabbits come walking by my treestand!:D:D

No, but I was comfy 2nite. Have a snowstorm goin on..3 degrees above 0 with windchill ontop...Too cold for TeeJay, but not for me[8D] Wouldn't want my butt sitting on this ground.

Took a pic so guys could see a DB on a Badlands 2200 pack.

The only way to stand hunt in the cold;)

Saw 5 does was all. The storm had everything hunkered. No shots on the does..2 far. I brought the Tribute out for the rest of season..it was feeling ignored since the new Guardian came into the scene.

Here is mine. About30 yrds from clover, corn and alfalfa. Its comfy. I use a beach chair in mine to sit in. I have 360 degree view, and a comfy chair to sit in. No need for swivel chair as I can see outall windows fine.
