MOD's please don't bump me too quickly[8D]I wanted to send my bow friends a snap shot of my weekend with the boys.

As I near the end of the season I have my Hoyt AM 32 on order but in Parallel I'm hunting with the smoke tube and also in parallel thinking of turkeys...

Saturday Night - Huron County Michigan (UBLY), On my 550 acre piece crops are off and farmer Joe was running his John Deer to clear a path of snow for our trucks to pass....

Right now all the crops are gone and the deer are feeding on sugar beets that were never picked in the fall...After counting 36 deer on Saturday night...7 of them were little bucks..........I took another big doe with the Smoke Tube at 136 yards...My buddy Mike...claimed the spike he took was a managment spike...I did not argue..he is the nephew of the owner..and a personal friend...to each his own...

I near the end of the season with 6 doe kills and ZERO shooters in range...Let'em grow in Mich..thats for you GERM.

MW74(Brian) @ deer camp...nothing better...

MW in the middle,

MW in the white hat

looks like you guys had fun.
But tell me you didn't slit that deers throat. The spiker on the right. I got some good bucks in my home shop this yr.... split from ear to ear. I was horrified. One was a big 6x7 that was shot in rifle season by a little girl, she was 15 yrs old and her folks wanted to have it mounted for her. I told them good luck. The gutted it and went right up to the chin to take the windpipe out. I educated them a bit. When you double lung a deer with ANY weapon you don't have to slit the throat. AND the wind pipe only has to be taken out when the weather is warm, to prevent bacteria. On a trophy you never touch the cape. They can buy a cape but if they don't want to then they have to be happy with a euro mount.
Sorry for the rant. Hope I didn't hijack your thread[X(]

That looks like a great time. Congrats on your doe and I wish more people would have your idea about letting little bucks walk.

The slicing the throat deal Is an old wive's tail. People still think they have to do It around here, I just laugh to myself.
