One time I was in a little fender bender while I was driving around looking for deer. I was okay, but my girlfriend hit her head off of the steering wheel when I went in the ditch.

Dude that's nothing! I've gotten so good that I can make my eyes go in opposite directions. I just turn slightly to my right and can keep tabs on both the road and field/woods.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that does this, I even do it while driving the work truck which provides me with much more opportunities to spot and glass deer...

I have the same problem. The back roads to my property are very winding and hilly roads, so Ive been yelled at a few times for concentrating on the ridges and woods, not the road. I'll need to work on that for safety's sake

my big problem is when there is snow on the ground....i can find deer laying along the road pretty easy and regular when there is snow on the ground....i cant help but to look out the window!!!!

My friend almost killed us doing that. He saw a deer out of the corner of his eye on a back road so he looked over. Problem was he was going 70mph and the road had no shoulder. Truck went off the road and he jerked it and over corrected. His brand new Ford p/u rolled 4 and half times as we finally stopped rolling when we slammed into a stone wall. Truck completely pancaked. We both crawled out of the truck. Seat belts saved our lives. Ambulance got there and asked were the bodies were in the woods, seeing aswe werent in the truck and they couldnt see how someone survived the crash. Hurt like hell though.

NOt trying to be a prick, but I know most of you wear harnesses (and readily tell anyone who doesn't how stupid they are), and you now have a thread talking about how irresponsible of a driver you are by not paying attention while performing one ofthe most dangerous activities we do. I know, you do have your seatbelt on.

As to the driving and looking for deer, I'm guilty as charged, hell I think it's and ADDICTION!!!! And if you see deer in ONE place, just once, then you'll have to look in that specific place everytime you go by for the rest of your life because they may be there again, almost like an obsession or something.

Not sure if anyone caught this...but its freakin hallarious...
