I was lucky enough to only have to wait two weeks from the first time I went till the first time I was able to take a 4.5 yr old doe. Now, from the time I bought my first bow it was several months as I didn't feel it was ethical to buy a bow one day and head into the woods the next. :)

I waited 3 months.

My first bow kill, oddly enough, was a Caribou in Quebec Canada.:)

My first year of bowhunting (this year) I killed a doe on the 11th day of the season, eighth sit.. Since then, Ive had some awesome encounters, and passed some young bucks,but I'm still waiting for a buck I'd be proud of.

(My brother killed a doe on his first bowhunt ever, after sitting in stand for 20 minutes) Lucky punk:D.. I guess it just works out that way for some people sometimes.

2001- 1st hunt, 1st 15min I took a nice 2.5 10 pointer that grossed 128"

Got my first when I was 14....2nd year with a tag and had never rifle hunted then...just didnt get out much at all the first year...
