Uncle Ted

Ya just got to admit. The boy does have fun. LOL The more I watch him the more I like his message. Over the top.... sometimes. Sincere... always. A true piece of work.:D

His message is right on point, 100% true. However, (IMO) his over-the-top approach does more harm than good sometimes.

Im udecided on Ted. When i was in middle school i thought he was such a badass and a good voice for the sport of hunting.

Now that im older...i don't agree with him much. High fence farms and other things just dont sit well with me.

Now as a ROCKER, Uncle Ted is the ****. Best selling tour in the word 3 years in a row during the late 70's i believe? And if you watch any of those VH1 countdowns you would see that he's a freak as well Rock on Uncle Ted, just don't come and hunt with me!

Because he constantly takes shots he preaches should never be taken?

He flings arrows at moving animals in the hopes that he connects?

I like the guy because he does it his way, but I hate half the crap he does on camera.

If that's the criteria for not being a good ambassador, then Ted should be out too.

Could be.

I think I've only seen one show ever showcasing Uncle Ted hunting.

I've listened to him talk about the sport quite a bit though.

I agree in the first season (I think it was), there were shots taken that made me scratch my head asking why. I do believe that he cleaned up that part of it last season though. I can't remember anything real bad. I don't think I started out liking him right off. But I think last season changed my mind. I now like his soap box speeches and his persistance especially on wing shooting. Some of comedy scetches I could do without. His shooting definetely improved.

I agree that the "his way" line does get a bit old.

I agree with you. Hes never been about HIS way of hunting, just hunting in general which I respect. Barta gets real old with the "My way" crap.

You could be right, bud. I didn't watch last season based on the first few episodes I saw.

I am not a big Ted fan but the show with him and his brother bear hunting was great. This is not meant in a bad way but it was like watching a real life beavis and butthead. He should do more shows with his brother .

Brucelanthier I got to agree with you on that episode, hilarious. That is the most censoring I have ever heard on that channel.
Sometimes he gets to be a little much of a salesman with his sponsers but hey if they were paying me to hunt I would probably do the same.

He supports our sport with everything he has.

He takes some questionable shots, his farms may or may not be high fenced, he is extreme....So what. He is doing it legally.

I may not agree with how he hunts, but I am grateful that there is someone out there so set on protecting our tradition.
Perfectly stated.

RE: Uncle Ted

Sorry fellas, but in my eyes the guy's a complete phony and a liar. I know alot of guys think he's an ambassador to the sport and supports hunter's rights, but its all a gimmick IMO. Here's why.

1) "I think people who kill wolves are punks" -Ted on OLN's top 25 greatest outdoor movies special dec 06'
2) Admits to poaching a vulture, and mounting it for a stage prop, in his book "god, guns&RnR"
3) Claims he killed a ram at 600 yds w/ a 9mm beretta pistol, in his book "god guns& RnR"
4) His show is just canned hunting garbage, and the most tackey peice of crap on ODC. Yeah canned hunts are legal and I support them, but I hardley think that makes him an "ambassador to the sport" or an authority on hunting.
5) His magazine articles are nothing more than the rambleings of a blithering madman.
6) If I donated a million $$$ to the NRA, I'd be on the board too.
7) How are you gonna call a bleach blonde, former weather girl, w/ a 10K boob job "queen of the forest"? gimme a break!
8) Hes starred in several tackey reality shows where he shamlessly portrays hunting in the goofy redneck image that hollywood always does ,just like that idiot, jeff foxworthy.
9) Says disgusting things on stage in front of kids (Ive witnessed it) and is basically an embarrasment to hunters whenever he opens his mouth on fox news, talking about guns and hunting.
10) Claims he supports the troops and US war efforts, but dodged the draft himself during the veitnam war like the chicken sh**, hypocrite he is.

If you guys wanna admire a bowhunting guitar player with a little class, may I suggest Dickie Betts (Alman Bros.)

You know, I agree with most of this. But, my brother, who goes to the NRA conferences, and such, brought up a good point. And that was "The kids love em". He says he sees the younguns just cheer when he gets into someone's face with some rant on not giving up one of our hunting or gun rights. NRA can't survive with the same old men with the same ole pitch. If you want any movement or organization to keep growing or going, one has to think of the future. And like it or not, they are the future. And believe me, I am not a big fan of the droopy pants, loud grocery getter honda civic generation.

Were not all like that.

But you have to remember that your parents probably said the same thing about your generation:

"I am not a big fan of the loud car, loud music, tight pants big hair generation"

If you were born in the 70's that is....

True true,

Spears will keep on selling forever, she already a pop legend (oxymoron )

I personally think the 90's was the best generation (i grew up in the 90's and 00's).

Tred Barta cares about as much about being a "spokesman" for hunting as Elmer Fudd does......lol. He rubs people wrong because he says what everyone knows.....but few want to admit to. HE DOES do it the "hard way".

I'm wondering how proud of Fred Bear everyone who worships him would be if all of his shots were on film???

Ted....he's the best spokeman we have as a hutning community. He can gain access to groups most can't. Imagine Don Kisky requesting a forum with the US Congress:D.
