I think what David is trying to say is if you stood in front of a mirror and took an arrow and placed it any where near your shoulder at the angle you shot could you live with any nine inches of penetration?

Jim, i don't know if a deer or anything else could live with 8-9 inches of arrow stick in behind the shoulder at a forward angle or not...but according to my trustworthy nieghbor, i do find that yes, it must be possible. I will hunt this doe and if i do put it down, i will post the pics. This story was not to conjure up an argument about what some people 'think' or 'feel' is possible or not. I just wanted to share a story that has happened to me this bow season and get any constuctive comments or critisism that you all may have. I'm saying this is what it is..sorry if some people get 'bent' about what they 'feel' is not true. I would never call any of you fellow hni'ers liars if what you say is true.

ORIGINAL: Rory/MO

If a broadhead penetrated the shoulder 8" wouldn't it have gotten some lung?
Rory..thats what i was hoping. As stated in the story, the shot ended up 'high' behind the shoulder. I do not know exactly where the arrow ended up because obviously i haven't had the chance to inspect it closely. But your right, i thought the same, thats why i spent 4 days trying to find her.
