Well I took a vacation day from hunting and went still hunting this morning[8D]. As some of you may know I've been up to my ears with things going on around and on my main piece of land I hunt. I needed a break for a morning. I went to one of my other pieces to get away from it for a day.
I still hunted for a few hours. Put the wind in my face and walked through a standing corn field first. That was pretty cool. Crept up to 40 yards on a couple big does untill they busted me [:-]. Then I poked around in a little batch of hardwoods along the edge of a hay field. Plopped my butt down on a blowdown for 20 minutes taking a break and had a little 4 pointer walk by me at 20 yards. That was about it.
For those of you that get burned out, frustrated, worn out etc.... take a morning or afternoon and do something different. Go mobile and see what happens. It was actually fun to get away for a day and try it.The only thing that suckedwas my hands were frozen. I think I'm just about getting feeling back in them now. Back to reality this afternoon though

I love to still hunt. The older I get, the less I do it. But down here in Texas, we have tuns of hogs to stalk, and can do so all year around. So I like to get out and stalk those guys for practice.
